“You’re only buying the name.” This is what some people say to someone they know when this friend spends a little more money than usual to buy a well-known brand.
Most people actually equate the insanely high price tags on any type of product to its brand. True… but the flip side of the coin is that those who are willing to spend a little more bucks may see it the other way around. They buy the name not because of the price tags but because the name gives them more assurance about the product’s quality.
The bottom line is, a good business name entails good business for you. Your business gets on well when the reputation of your products or your services makes it easier to convince customers to part with their money… no matter how much more it costs over the next available product or service. This is the reason why big companies spend a lot for advertisements and celebrity endorsements.

Why not bring this philosophy to your level? Your business may be in a much smaller scale than the major companies but this does not mean that you cannot create a good name for yourself. Start by delivering very satisfactory service. Always make it a point to keep your customers happy, for a small- to medium-scale business, word of mouth is the best bet for advertisements and endorsements. Next, associate yourself with other reputable businesses and always be involved in community building activities. Once you establish a good name, stick to your values, maintain that good reputation.
